New Validated Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Fourier Transform Spectroscopic Method for the Quantification of Levofloxacin in Pharmaceutical Dosage Form

Levofloxacin is a synthetic fluoroquinolone antibiotic available in different dosage forms for the treatment of various bacterial infections. Here in, we report validated diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopic method quantitative analysis levofloxacin solid forms. This offers advantage being eco-friendly that applied state samples. Appropriate quantities and dry potassium bromide were mixed to get desired concentration samples using sampling interface. The peak spectrum around 1724 cm-1 was observed carbonyl group levofloxacin. calibration curve plotted area under against standards. A linear with correlation coefficient 0.999 obtained range 0.3-1.8 % w/w linear, precise accurate as per guidelines. employed quantification three marketed tablet laboratory physical mixture yielded mean recovery 101.32 98.11 percent by weight, respectively.
